Publisher Description
Use the best analogue there is to buy low and sell high with the Balance My Portfolio Mobile App:
- Check the balances of your investment portfolios in real time
- Be alerted to the optimal time to rebalance your portfolio
- Maintain an appropriate allocation for your risk tolerance while maximizing your returns
Without rebalancing, time will mold your portfolio’s allocation into a risk level unsuitable to your needs and comfort level. This is due to various asset classes yielding various returns through time. Systematic rebalancing not only brings your investments back in line with your risk tolerance but alerts you to strategic opportunities to take some of your profits and use it to purchase investments that are at a discount.
Market timing involves taking chances and guess work. While you might be right and buy at the low you also have to sell at a high. Very few investors can do this on a consistent basis because emotions get involved and make people buy with the exuberance of rising prices and sell as fear sets in when prices are falling. This does not lead to successful returns.
The main goal of systematic rebalancing, and this app, is to bring your allocation back in line with your risk tolerance. The secondary goal to systematic rebalancing is to buy low and sell high. When one asset class has gained more than another, this app tells you to lock in some of the gains by selling high and moving the profits into the asset class that is at a discount.
